Refreshed & Recharged

What a beautiful weekend! We had time to relax, do a little shopping and have a bite to eat at Wunchie’s in Old Town Spring. Spent a little time in praise and worship at church.

This Monday morning is another "great new day the Lord has made"! We are into a very busy week of children’s portraits, business portraits and wedding photography on Saturday. Valerie and Frank are getting married - a wonderful couple. We delivered Valerie’s bridal portrait last week for her to display at the reception. We’ll show you the portraits and some wedding photos next week.

Two large Montage wedding albums (street name is flush mount albums) are in the works for this week. One for Anita and Steven and another for Melanie and Marvin. Each album takes about 16 hours to create. It’s all custom work, so I see some OT on my schedule. We love it though. It’s what we do!

Ashley and Andrew with Mom and Dad

Ashley and Andrew are just so cute and energetic. We did portraits of the children at Mercer Arboretum where they had a great time investigating the great outdoors. They went from one area to another checking out all the critters from squirrels to bugs.

While we were at it, we had Mom and Dad, Molly and Chad, join in with the children for a family portrait. It’s always a lot of fun for us when we do portraits at Mercer. There are just so many areas with great backgrounds and places for posing. It easy to do the posing there, and even the kids forget it’s all about getting their portrait made.

After the session Molly came to the studio for previewing. We did a slide show of all the images and then went through them one by one. She made her selections for individual portraits and a framed Wall Folio. It only took about 45 minutes. So fast and easy. The portraits are now on their wall, and they have great memories of this time in their life!

Family Portraits

Alan Van sent me an email the other day asking for some copies of the family portrait we did for him and Susan almost 2 years ago. His high school reunion is coming up in October, and he wanted to post some pictures on the reunion website. His class graduated in '68, so this is an important reunion.

Susan and Alan have 3 beautiful and successful daughters - Terry, Crystal and Stacey. Stacey married Andy in 2005, and we did their wedding photography. As I recall, we produced a very handsome matted wedding album for them. So we did the family portrait, and as always we did all the combinations too.

Carol and I pulled the family portrait DVD from our digital archives and re-loaded the images on the computer. So much easier than working with negatives. Alan had picked some images he wanted for the reunion. I re-formatted the images to 5 x 7 at 100 ppi. The smaller size and low resolution make for faster loading on websites and email.

Alan has his photos, and here's to a great time at the reunion!

Kroger Serves Galveston!

Four days after Ike - Kroger re-opened their store on Galveston in style! With 20 thousand or so residents still on the island needing food, water and ice, Kroger was there for them. Kroger gave to each person as many bags of ice and 24-packs of water as they wanted. Free hot dogs were served to all with the help of Mrs. Baird's and their "Texas" size barbque. In the store people loaded up on all the necessities - including prescription refills in pharmacy. Kroger had me along to take some photos. It's always a pleasure to work with the Kroger Team. They always put their customers first!

Non-Profit Fund Raisers

Spring and Fall are the busiest times for organizations to raise money for their cause. We are asked regularly for Gift Certificates for their silent auctions, and we gladly contribute. We give Gift Certificates to many of the local PTOs, CASA, Rotary, E.C.H.O. Foundation, Heart Association, Mercer Arboretum, NAM just to name a few. Your organization can be added to our list. We will be happy to give you a couple of certificates for a portrait session and a Keepsake Portrait. Those who come to us with a certificate get full service. They get a full, regular portrait session and the finest in finished portraits. All you have to do is call Chuck or Carol at 281.251.4646 or email chuckg2525@sbcglobal.net . Don’t hesitate to ask.

We Design Wedding Albums

It happens all the time. Couples get married in another city or on a tropical island. Their photographer gives them all their images on DVD but no album or prints. So they have “digital negatives” but nothing to hold in their hand and look at. We can design a wedding album and print individual prints for them, and we have already done a couple of albums like that. There are various style of wedding albums we can show you. We offer the flush mount albums (we call them Montage albums), traditional matted albums and the contemporary coffee table books. The smaller versions of these albums called “Brag Books” are a huge hit these days. That DVD will sit in a drawer forever unless you decide to do something with the images. Just call us at 281.251.4646 or email chuckg2525@sbcglobal.net. Carol and I will enjoy helping you!

Baby Madison

Just a little doll ~ and only about 10 weeks old in these portraits. Baby Madison was alert, energetic and awake for the whole session. There were no shots of her napping. Baby portraits are about the most favorite things we do. And when we get to do Baby and Mom portraits, it’s even better! Shantel is a wonderful Mom! Sessions generally last about 45 minutes to an hour, but there’s no rush. We give it whatever time baby needs. Previews are shown right after the session, so there’s no need for a second trip. Mom and Dad can place their order right there and then pick up finished portraits in less than 2 weeks. We even offer portraits sized for email, iphone and Facebook.

Anita and Steven

Guests from all over Europe and the U.S. came to witness Anita and Steven celebrate their vows. A true international wedding. Their ceremony was at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church where Anita is children’s choir director. Lots of kids at the wedding. Augusta Pines hosted their reception. A very scenic country club with outstanding service directed by Susan Metzger. Carol and I truly enjoyed being wedding photographers at Anita and Steven’s wedding celebration. We are in the process of designing their flush mount (we call it Montage) album. As soon as it is done, we’ll show you some of the pages. Check back often.
